8-Parks convenient to Rivermist, each with a unique set of offerings:

  • Alexander Park

    91-acres. Amenities: 18-hole Disc Golf Course, 1.7-mile paved Fitness Trail, 1-mile soft surface Trail, Fishing, Horseshoe Pit, Lake with Fishing Piers, and Outdoor Classroom.

  • Bethesda Park

    159-acres. Bethesda Senior Center, Bethesda Aquatic Center, 3-Adult Softball Fields, 7-Baseball/Softball Fields, Outdoor Basketball Courts, Football/Multi-Purpose Field with Lighted Walking Track, 6-Soccer Fields, and 1.5-mile paved Fitness Trail.

  • Lenora Park

    178-acres. Amenities: Football/multi-purpose Field, lighted Walking Track, Dog Park, Gym, Fishing Lake, 6-Baseball/Softball Fields, 18-hole Disc Golf Course, and 1.5-mile paved Fitness Trail.

  • Mountain Park Park

    44-acres. Amenities: Skate complex, 7 baseball/softball fields, Football field overlay, Six lighted tennis courts, Soft surface trail, and 1-mile paved multi-purpose trail.

  • Ronald Reagan Park

    25-acres. Amenities: Dog park area, Horseshoe pits, Shuffleboard courts, 2 half-Basketball Courts, Bocce ball courts, .3/4-mile paved Fitness Trail, and Skate Area.

  • South Gwinnett Park

    23-acres. Amenities: Youth Sports (Baseball, Softball, Football).

  • Yellow River Park

    566-acres. Amenities: 12-mile soft surface trail for mountain biking, hiking and equestrian and 1-mile paved multi-purpose trail.

  • Yellow River Post Office

    5-acre, passive history park with mid-century post office/general store, sharecropper's house, barn, and slave cabin. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

 

City Parks

  • City Park - City of Lilburn

    10-acre city park located in downtown Lilburn and home of the annual Lilburn Daze Arts Festival. Trailhead for Camp Creek Greenway.

  • Briscoe Park - City of Snellville

    Offerings include 1.5 mile fitness trail, Briscoe Pool, and Pate Lake, and home of the annual Snellville Days Arts & Crafts Festival.

  • Camp Creek Greenway

    13-acre passive linear park that connects Lilburn City Park, in downtown Lilburn, to Lions Club Park with 4.2-miles of paved & gravel trails for walking, hiking, and biking.

 

State of Georgia

  • Stone Mountain Park

    World famous Stone Mountain Park is Georgia’s most popular attraction offering a wide variety of activities. Home of the Yellow Daisy Festival. Featuring 3200-acres of natural beauty surrounding the massive 825-ft. high granite dome of Stone Mountain.

  • Gwinnett County Aquatic Centers

    • Bethesda Park Aquatic Center

      Located within Bethesda Park. Amenities: Indoor Leisure Pool with zero-depth entry, Giant Waterslide, and Indoor Instructional Pool. Open Year Round.

    • Mountain Park Aquatic Center

      Indoor 25-yard x 25-meter Competition/Lap Pool, 500-seat Spectator Area, Indoor Instructional Pool. Open year round. Outdoor Leisure Pool & 1-mi. Paved Fitness Trail

 

Senior Recreation

  • Bethesda Senior Center

    Senior social, recreational, and educational opportunities. Classes include arts & crafts, exercise, dancing, bridge, & computer training plus a variety of trips & special events.

PATH Foundation

Rivermist is near 2 very popular PATHs. The PATH Foundation has been building a network of off-road trails for Atlanta area walkers, runners, cyclists, & skaters for over 22-years.

  • Arabia Mountain PATH

    Only 17-mi. from Rivermist, the trail connects Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, Panola Mountain State Park, & the Trappist Monastery. 7000-acres of green space, features large Rock Outcroppings & streams rushing over woodland Waterfalls.

  • Stone Mountain PATH

    A 19-mile trail connecting Stone Mountain Park to downtown Atlanta. Points of interest include downtown Decatur, Fernbank, Carter Presidential Center, and MLK Center.

 

Water Trail

Closest public access is located at Yellow River Park (see link under County Parks).

  • Yellow River Water Trail

    "Come get Mellow on the Yellow", a 53-mile natural waterway for canoeing, rafting, and kayaking running through 4-counties (Gwinnett, DeKalb, Rockdale, and Newton).
